Government Incentive Schemes Overview

Feed in Tariff or FiT

Payments made to you for electricity generated and exported from a renewable source

Renewable Heat Incentive or RHI

Payments made to you for generating heat from a renewable source

Renewable Heat Premium Payment or RHPP

A grant to install renewable heat generators whilst waiting for the domestic RHI to come into force

Green Deal

Loan scheme that pays for energy saving or energy creating technologies, where by the savings made in energy pay for the loan

Energy Company Obligation or ECO

For technologies that under the Green Deal will take considerable time to cover the costs through the savings it creates, the energy companies will provide grants to help with initial outlay

Enhanced Capital allowance scheme or ECA scheme

Where 100% of the value of a qualifying technology installed can be written off against table profits (for businesses only)

Aquafund

A government backed scheme where water saving measures are provided and the savings they produce pay for the installation
